What is it and what is it for?

In Italian, treccia means plait, and treccia di bufala is just that: plaited buffalo milk mozzarella, in a 1 kg piece. It is sliced for the plate or served as it is, to share.

In the kitchen

On an antipasti board with mortadella and salami, in slices with tomato and rocket, or pulled into strands over a pizza that is already baked.
