What is it and what is it for?
Basmati rice has a long, slender grain and an aroma of its own that you notice as soon as it cooks. The grain stays loose, and that is why it is served as a side with dishes that come with a sauce.
In the kitchen
With a chicken or vegetable curry, in a stir-fry with prawns or as a side on the hotel buffet.
